Why exactly 8 characters at the password length?

I think thats a critical! Any hacker knows now how long my password is.

Hi Andreas,

this is a restriction on the Service Market Place (SMP) side for S-users. It is their password guideline we had to incorporate since they also "own" the passwords. Meaning if an S-user does change his password it will get send to SMP since they have to persist it on their side.
