Can't find how to set my avatar?

I agree. I did not find any way to change the avatar

Go to people.sap.com. It should (if logged in) take you to your profile and you will be able to upload a new profile avatar.

I had to click on the circle with a no picture avatar which wasn't obvious but I did it. Thank you

Mike, thanks for chiming in. The problem is mainly that it is not clear what you ahve to do to upload the avatar the first time. IN account settings you have to click on your name, which is simply non-obvious. Once you first uploaded an avatar, then you will get a clear "upload" link underneath your avatar.

By the way in SAP.COM whatever I try and whichever browser I use in Windows 10 the picture I upload ends up being rotated 90 degree. Here in userecho it seems all right but in SAP.COM it doesn't work. I'm lost with these profiles on SAP why do we have separate profiles ?

That's an odd one for sure. I have not heard from anyone else having a similar problem. As far as the link in the name, I have already requested that they unhide the link for the name. It makes no sense at all for that to be hidden. You can also click on the icon for navigation which I had not realized until someone pointed it out to me. Like digging for treasure, only it should not require digging. It's a new environment and we are still learning the workarounds for some of these issues. Right now it is mostly communicating and requesting fixes. Lots and lots of communications!

Yes it's weird.

I tried 4 different pictures. All gives the same result. Of course my pictures aren't rotated like this at all. Here it is all right, as you can see it's the same picture.

I tried Chrome, Microsoft Edge and IE 11 all latest version on the latest version of Windows 10. Can't think of another way to upload the picture.

When I click to upload, I'm presented with 2 ways of uploading. Either DRAG DROP or with the button OPEN FILE. I tried both and both gives the picture rotated in the box even before hitting UPLOAD.

UserEcho (where we are presently) is a 3rd party tool implemented to gather feedback with respect to Profiles and only Profiles. However many folks are using it to vent generally about deficiencies in the new environment. Requests for changes should be logged in Idea Place, https://ideas.sap.com/ct/ct_list.bix?c=3F1503D6-1AE6-409A-A17A-8360D3F46A40, But please review the existing ideas and vote for the ones you think are most important. It does not help if we have the same idea posted three different times with votes being split. Generally the people making choices on what to implement will aggregate the votes together, but often the ideas are presented differently or together with other suggestions. Best if you just find one which applies and vote on it.

Thanks, Mike

Ok understood. Thank you

That is a really, really odd choice...why would you even want separate services for feedback on different parts on your site? I mean, sure, on the backend you'll want to route feedback to whomever that particular kind of feedback is relevant. But why should that concern the visitor of your site? To me this sounds like an excellent way to lose quality feedback and frustrate your visitors.

I finally managed to make it work but had to load the picture in Paint and save it. Why should I have to do it I honestly don't know. It seems SAP.com looks something in the file information however if this pictures shows all right in Windows 10, Windows 7, Linux and Chrome book I'm wondering why uploading this image ends up being rotated by SAP.COM. Anyway. Now that I know about having to load an image in paint and save it before uploading to SAP.COM it helps however it's a burden having to do it all the time. Hope they'll fix it.

Regarding the profiles, it's indeed a strange choice to have the USER EXPERIENCE different for something related to the same portal. Anyway. There must have some kind of BY DESIGN decision.

I will admit to wondering a bit myself about the process by which some of the design decisions were obtained. However, I am past the point where I worry about how we arrived here and moved on to how do we deal with it.
