May be there is a time lag or something. I was not able to see this when i had uploaded the picture. Now there is no problem.

User name is Jothivenkatesh.m and public url is https://people.sap.com/jothivenkatesh.m

I am using Chrome browser. When i have uploaded the picture and click on Save button, the picture is displayed in the slot. But once i come back again, the picture disappears. There are no error messages as such being thrown.
